KUTSCHSTALL (FORMER CARRIAGE STABLES)
After World War II, the last horse-drawn carriages at Gut Pronstorf went out of operation as technical progress conquered agriculture. From them on, the Kutschstall merely served as a storage place for tyres and had dismal prospects.
In May 2008, however, the last stage of construction was completed, giving the building a magnificent new lease of life. Fitted with a large, homely fireplace and a spacious terrace, it is an appropriate setting for all those important occasions in life. Wardersee (lake), which glints through the tree trunks, hides behind the forest bordering on the terrace. A gaggle of wild geese can often be heard by guests at events here.
Events at the Kutschstall span two levels – the ground floor (160 m²) and the upper floor (120 m²) above, which is accessed by means of a spacious wooden staircase. The food preparation room contains a sink and stainless steel tables; catering deliveries can be made through a separate entrance. The bar located in front of it ensures that any event runs smoothly. An air handling unit in the building makes sure that the temperature inside is always comfortable and draught-free. A cloakroom and high-quality sanitary facilities are also provided, of course. ■
